No More Katrina Debit Cards

FEMA announced an end to the $2,000 debit card program for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Apparently the logistics would have required too much staffing, and I suspect there were concerns about tracking the cards and use of funds (it's kind of like handing out a bunch of $2,000 bills!). Instead, FEMA will offer direct deposit to those who qualify.
