Emigrant Direct Site Down Again

It looks like Emigrant Direct suffered another outage overnight. An alert reader (thanks M) reported that the Emigrant Website was not responding. This is one more reason to keep a brick-and-mortar account open with some emergency cash. Online accounts are wonderful for yield, but web technology just adds another potential pitfall. If you don't have one already, get a brick-and-mortar account with a debit card and checkbook. A local institution is best in case you ever need to walk in and get a cashier's check printed.
