Bringing a bad check into a bank can lead to your arrest -- even if you didn't know it was a bad check. Therefore, make sure you have plenty of time (it took 12 hours for one gentleman to get released after a Bank of America mixup) if you go to the bank with a check you're not sure about. Better yet, keep up to speed on some common culprits: cashier's check fraud and Qchex checks.
