Rate chasers: you're in luck. HSBC recently announced a promotional 6% APY on new deposits. You can earn 6% until April 30th 2007 if you increase the balance in your Online Savings Account. If you don't have one yet, you can open one now and your new funds will qualify. This may be the beginning of the online banks battling for your bucks. Last year we saw a few nice promotions right around the same time.
