Get Social Security Electronically - No Bank Account Needed

The US Government is really trying to stop printing checks. They know that it costs a lot to print and mail Social Security payments, and they know that electronic payments reduce fraud and errors. As a result, they're offering the Direct Express Card. This is basically a debit card credited with Social Security payments. Recipients don't even need a bank account. They can get cash, use the card as if it were a credit card, and view their transactions online. Take a look at the Direct Express Card program at the Department of Treasury Website.
