ING Direct Mobile Banking Review, Analysis

ING Direct recently dove into the mobile banking space, allowing you to move money on your mobile. Jim at netbanker.com has been keeping tabs on mobile banking, and he shares his experience with ING Direct's system. Most importantly, he highlights how some of us will have a hard time banking online because of the little screens and keyboards that don't separate numbers from letters. As a followup, I visited the plain-old ING Direct website (not the one for you mobile phone, which is ingdirect.com/m) on my mobile phone. I also visited the new site for mobile phones. They both looked the same to me -- like full-size web pages that you have to scroll around on. I couldn't log on, using a Treo 700wx. As Jim mentioned, we've got a ways to go still. It could be operator error, but the banks need to dummy-proof mobile banking if they want us to use it.
