Disappearing Ink on Checks = Bad

In case you didn't know, you should not use disappearing ink when writing checks. This fact came into the spotlight recently as a result of the Wacky Warning Label Contest, a contest run by Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch. An astute consumer actually found the warning on her Vanishing Fabric Marker -- apparently the thing really works. The warning says:
"The Vanishing Fabric Marker should not be used as a writing instrument for signing checks or any legal documents."
For a photo of the disclaimer and other fun warnings, visit mlaw.org. The winning label, by the way, was "Danger! Avoid Death."
