Interest Rates Decline - How to Lock a Rate

Today's emergency interest rate cut will mean lower rates for you savers. Savings accounts and CDs are sure to offer less next week than they did last week. How can you get last week's rates, even if you don't have any money to deposit?

Look into banks that let you lock-in CD interest rates. The jist of locking is that you get a guaranteed rate today even if you won't add money to the account until later.

Where can you pull this off? The BankDeals site has an updated list of some of the better offers out there. You should probably move to lock rates sooner than later.
