ING Direct Electric Orange Experiment

Monday March 10, 2008
ING Direct's Electric Orange account is a free checking account that pays you interest on your money. While it's nice to get paid on your checking money, there are some pitfalls. In particular, you don't get a checkbook that you can use to make payments. This isn't a dealkiller -- you can still use the online bill pay service and/or have ING Direct print a check for you.

The Happy Rock reflects on the process:

"That function works great, and you don’t have to waste a stamp. Sometimes though, you still want to have a check that you can take with you or send in with a yourself".
If you'd like to get the check in your hands, you can have ING Direct print it and mail it to you -- not to the payee. But will it work? According to the experiment it works just fine. To find out more, see The Happy Rock.
