J.D. Power and Associates: Banking Satisfaction Declines

J.D. Power and Associates recently released their 2008 study on customer satisfaction at the bank. It turns out that we're less satisfied with our banks this year than we were last year.

The best banks, according to the study, are doing a few things in common:

  • Staying open for longer hours
  • Keeping wait times short at the branch and on the phone
  • Offering more locations, including small branches at the supermarket
It seems surprising that these ingredients are mostly important to the brick-and-mortar customer. I suppose that satisfaction is about more than just the best rates. It's about making life easy and fixing problems when they occur.

What do you love or hate most about your bank? Tell us about it in the comments or submit a report at our Bank Reviews page.
