FTC Uses Catchy Jingle to Publicize Free Credit Reports

It's hard to find a real free credit report. Most people don't know that US consumers are entitled to a free credit report each year at no charge - with no strings attached. It's the law.

To get those reports, you have to visit annualcreditreport.com. The problem is that a lot of imposter sites and scammers lure you to their sites by claiming to offer "free" credit reports.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is fighting fire with fire. They've created commercials with catchy jingles that direct you to the right place. You'll see an Irish band explaining:

"Beware of the others, there's always a catch".
They don't sound like an authentic Irish band to me, but they're telling the truth. You can view the video at Consumerism Commentary and judge for yourself.

The bottom line: the only way to get your government mandated free credit reports is to visit annualcreditreport.com.
