SmartyPig is a service that helps you save for goals, making your account balances a little bit more meaningful. I personally don't use the service, but if it helps you be more successful at saving, I'm all for it.
SmartyPig’s mobile site (m.smartypig.com) lets you keep the money in your pocket, pull out whatever phone you have (Blackberry, iPhone, Palm, etc.) and save on the go. Need a little pressure to keep your card in your wallet? Check in on your goals – or your friends’ goals, so you can be peer pressured into better saving behavior.
In addition to acting like a bank, SmartyPig has a social element. You can share your goals with others and even hit them up for contributions.
