Sure, there are several ways. By using less paper (and less fuel for the mail service to transport it) you can help out. Landfills grow less quickly, less ink and chemicals are used, and you save trees and recycled paper for other uses.
The easiest way to do this is to bank electronically as much as possible. Pay bills without writing a check or even having your bank print and mail checks for you. Sign up for direct deposit with your employer so they don't have to write you a check. Use a debit card wherever you're comfortable doing so instead of writing checks. Finally, go paperless - have your bills and statements emailed to you instead of mailed (with all the extra glossy marketing material that you just toss).
