Banks Ease Overdraft Policies

Wells Fargo announced changes to their overdraft policy yesterday.

Don't get your checkbooks out yet - they can still ding you.  However, they'll let it slide if your overdraft is for $5 or less.

In addition, overdraft charges are limited to 4 per day.  4 overdraft fees can add up, but at least they're making progress.

Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase also plan to offer relief.

Banks are under increased pressure to ease up on overdraft fees.  Consumers who are in the most financial trouble tend to pay the most, and these fees provide healthy revenues for banks.
