A sophisticated computer virus is causing trouble in Germany.
The "Trojan horse", which works inside your computer without you knowing about it, collects login information and then steals money.
The program is especially sneaky and efficient. It does all of the following:
- Figures out how much to steal from your account without triggering bank fraud-detection programs
- Moves money from your account while you're online viewing the account
- Alters web pages sent from your bank so you can't see that the money's gone until you get a statement (or view your account online from an uninfected computer)
If they can do it in Germany, they can do it here. Keep your computer protected, and be careful about where you go online and what you click.
