Watch for Phony Banking Apps

Some mobile phone users love their apps - or programs that run on their phones.

Recently, thieves have created a variety of bogus applications.  Android, one of the newer systems out there, was under heavy attack in mid-December.  According to BankInfoSecurity.com, at least 50 fake applications were available for download.

The applications are pretty simple; they don't infect your operating system.  Instead, they simply grab your login information.

If you download banking applications, be sure they're legitimate.  Check with your bank before installing anything.
