Eye Opener: Calculate Monthly Interest Costs

Want to reduce your debt?  One way to get inspired is to see how much it costs you.

Monthly payments may be manageable, but a portion of each monthly payment is interest.  Interest doesn't pay for the thing you bought; it's money you spend without getting anything in return (except the ability to borrow money, which can be worth it).

It may be shocking to see how much interest you pay each month.  Putting a number on it might help motivate you to reduce debt and control spending.  You can also decide if there's a better use for those dollars.

Get Rich Slowly recently featured an article showing you how to do it.  Find out how much you pay every day, month, and year.  Even if you can't pay off your debts immediately, you'll understand them better.
