Busy Times for Vishing Scams

You're probably familiar with a phishing scam.  You get a strange email asking for too much information, and the message quickly heads to the trash.

What if you get a phone call?  Are you as skeptical?

Vishing scams use phones to steal your information, and there's been a lot of vishing activity lately.

The attacks are tricky because we're used to dealing with banks on the phone.  Plus, we know that it's cheap and easy to send a billion emails - but phone calls take more resources.

You may get an automated phone call or a live person.  Either way, you now have to be more cautious about providing sensitive information over the phone.  If you get a strange call, just hang up and call your bank at a phone number you know is legitimate.

Great info Justin, very true. Phishing scams are on the rise and mutate over time.
