Banking-Only Computers

Concerned about security when banking online?  If you want to be safe, you can use a dedicated computer for online banking.  Use it only for logging in to bank accounts (no surfing, email, or social networking).

FraudPreventionUnit.org describes the concept and costs of using a banking-only computer.

If you don't want to buy a different machine, you can also do your banking with a live CD.  The "operating system" never stores anything (like viruses), and if you use a Linux CD it's especially hard for hackers to find weaknesses.

Do you keep your banking activity separate from everything else you do online?  Tell us how in the comments.
