New Life for Checkwriting?

By , About.com GuideDecember 3, 2010

Follow me on:

Checks get used less and less.  Most people seem to be happy about that, but not everybody.

Marketplace reports that check printing companies hope to keep checkwriting alive.  Their campaigns say it's your right to use checks, and that it can even be cool.

They've got their work cut out for them.  Banks, consumers, and businesses (for the most part) seem to prefer alternatives, and more competition is on the way as mobile payments gain footing.

How do you feel about writing checks?  Do you still love them or will you celebrate when you write your last check?  Tell us about it in the comments.

I am a teenager and just got my own checking account and I actually think writing checks is fun! I know it sounds lame but checks are like a piece fo art.

I think it is easier to keep up with records when you use a check.
