Parents and teens used to avoid talking about the "Birds and the Bees." Now, it's money.
Teens don't have many options for learning about these things. Education in school can be nonexistent or lightweight, and if teens run into trouble, they can pay the price for years.
Unfortunately, less than half of all teens surveyed by Junior Achievement report talking with their family about money management. However, 92% of them say they learn about money management from their parents.
Perhaps parents don't know what their children don't know, or they don't know how to discuss it. In an effort to help youngsters, Junior Achievement has created online money lessons for a variety of ages.
