It's never fun to see your account balance go down -- especially when you didn't even buy anything.  Banks increasingly charge fees to keep revenue up and penalize customers for mistakes.

When your account gets hit with a fee, is the money gone forever?  Depending on what happened and what you do, it may be possible to get bank fees reversed.  You'll have better luck with one-time fees or event-driven fees, and you can improve the odds further by knowing how to ask.
