The Same Bank Account for 98 Years?

Loyalty still means something to certain generations.  For example, a 100 year old woman in Ohio has had the same bank account for 98 years.

Her father opened the account when she was 1.5 years old, and she's stuck with the bank ever since.

June Gregg is comfortably retired, which may say something about her behavior.  She wasn't chasing rates and switching banks for a slightly higher return -- she just saved enough to live the life she wants.  If you've ever been tempted to switch banks, it's worth doing the math (and understanding how long your money will stop earning interest during any transition) before moving forward.
