Deposit Checks With Your Phone

Wednesday April 2, 2008
Got a camera phone? If so, then you've got a check scanner. You can skip the trip to the bank and 'deposit' checks with just an image.

ImageNet Mobile Deposit is a software that makes it possible. Of course, you may not be able to use the system at your bank (yet), but the idea is neat. Anything they can do to give us more options is a good thing.

NetBanker discusses the product and says:

"I'll admit, I didn't see this one coming. And I still can't decide if it's a good idea".

Perhaps the service would come in handy when somebody writes a check that you suspect may bounce. You can minimize float time by imaging the check the moment you receive it.

Would you find this useful today? Tell us about it in the comments.
