An unscientific survey shows that online savings accounts are now paying around 3.2% or more. This happens to be a figure that some people use for projecting long-term inflation -- so now your money is at least keeping pace with inflation! If you're earning less, look into using an online bank to increase your returns. For an example of how inflation has affected your purchasing power, try the U.S. Government's inflation calculator.
