Cashing checks is getting to be more and more of a pain. Last week we saw how you can end up going to jail if a scammer sends you a bad check. A recent episode of the ConsumerMan podcast talks about those promotional checks you get in the mail. Often, a company sends you a modest sum and hopes you'll cash the check (which means you've "agreed" to some service or another).
