Prosper.com Back in Business

Prosper.com is once again operating as a peer to peer lender.

The service shut down to meet regulatory requirements, but they reopened earlier this week. You can now apply for loans at the site, where lenders "bid" to fund your loan.

Prospective borrowers from Iowa, Kansas, Maine and North Dakota are out of luck for now - but you may be able to get loans there in the future.

A few things have changed at Prosper.com, but from a borrower's perspective not much is new. They raised the bar a bit, requiring a credit score of at least 640 in an effort to reduce losses. [via NetBanker]
