I hope you're comfortable with technology.
Banks have been trying to get us to do more online and with ATMs in an effort to cut costs. The next step: video tellers. Instead of working with a live person at the branch, you'll work with a video (there's still a live person, but he may be thousands of miles away).
It's kind of a mix between working with a teller and using the ATM. Video teller stations look like ATMs, but you'll have a live person smiling at you and helping you with your needs.
Banks say that in addition to saving money, they'll make your life easier. Video tellers can be pulled from branches nationwide when the line backs up, and they may allow for more flexible branch hours. For more details, including photos, see The Financial Brand's discussion of banking with video tellers.
